Transactionclasses and -types

Karin
Hello all,

we are founding a new foodcoop and I have a question regarding
transaction-classes and -types:
What is the purpose of these categories and how can I use them?
We would like to distinguish between member-fees and credit, and if
possible also between "Hours" and "Euro" because we are running the
foodcould together with a barter-initiative. As far as I found out, all
categories are added together and I have no clue how to use them.

Hope someone can give me some hints!
all the best
Karin

Hi Karin,

Good you found the mailing list! Transaction classes and types have been introduced some time ago, but still lack good documentation (as far as I know). They are indeed used to distinguish between something like sub-accounts for a member, so that e.g. order payments and member fees are kept separately (and payed separately).

Please note that these features are not yet released, so you'd have to run the development version of Foodsoft (from master).
This was all written by @paroga, would he be able to explain this a bit more?

Kind regards,
- Willem
