Input (continuous) quantities via keyboard when ordering

matilda
Hi all,

in the foodsoft setup we have right now ( hosted by systemausfall) it seems only possible to order products in given discrete quantities and tolerances using the plus and minus buttons. Is there any way to make these fields where you can input a number via the keyboard? Maybe we are missing an option somewhere, but so far I couldn't find any solution.

To illustrate our Problem:
We order a lot of things in large quantities that are not restricted to (predictable) integer division: lets say we order 25kg of apples, if we divide that into units of 1kg what are people who want about 3 apples supposed to do? If we divide that into unit of grams no-one is going to order much more than 15 grams of apple because it's tedious via the buttons.

Thanks in advance

Hi Matilda,

unfortunately, there is not a perfect solution to this problem (yet). Even if you were allowed to input the quantity by keyboard, units of 1 g would not provide a good solution because the foodsoft enforces rounding of the prices after two decimal places.

A good place to discuss these kind of issues is the foodsoft's issue tracker on github. Somewhat related is issue #474. You may consider to create a new issue there in order to "request" a feature to be implemented. However, there has not been much development activity on the foodsoft recently. If you (or someone else from your foodcoop) are a programmer then you can help to improve the foodsoft yourself. Otherwise we have to wait for someone else to work on that.

Best,
